Your guide on this journey is Dandapani. Raised in Australia, Dandapani graduated from university with a degree in Electrical Engineering and immediately after, he gave everything up to become a Hindu monk. He joined Kauai’s Hindu Monastery in Hawaii and was initiated as a monastic by his guru, Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami. There, he lived as a monk for 10 years studying the ancient Hindu teachings of yoga and meditation.

In 2008 his monastic vows expired and he decided to venture out on his own. He currently lives in New York City and conducts classes on meditation in the United States, the Caribbean, Australia and Asia. He works with individuals, small groups and corporate organizations, sharing with them spiritual tools to help them unfold their deepest potential through personal effort. Read more about Dandapani. Throughout the journey Dandapani will conduct classes on meditation, yoga and Hindu culture. He’ll share with you spiritual tools that are simple yet practicably applicable in your everyday life that can help you bring about the change that you seek.

For those of you who love photography this particular spiritual adventure will be of great interest to you. The journey will provide many opportunities for photography such as being present at the Diwali celebrations at the Golden Temple, the Pushkar Camel Fair and the people of Rajasthan who take great pride in their dress, perfectly wedding color and fabric.

This is certainly one of the best spiritual adventures we’ve planned with the experience of the Festival of Lights and the Pushkar Camel Fair all in one journey. The itinerary below shares in summary our days together as we journey through northwestern India.

The “Gems in the Desert” Spiritual Adventure is set to begin on the 24th of October in New Delhi, North India and conclude on the 8th November 2011 in Jaipur. A free group transfer will be provided from Jaipur to New Delhi for you to catch your outbound flight. This spiritual adventure is 16 days in duration.

Our journey will take us to the following places: New Delhi, Amritsar, Chandelao, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Pushkar and Jaipur.

Important Note

Due to the fact that we will be attending one of India’s largest festivals, Diwali, and also the famed Pushkar Camel Fair, it is best to reserve your place as early as possible. Accommodation has been sold out for more than a year in advance but we’ve managed to secure some rooms. These will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Enrollment Fees

The cost per person is USD3,950 based on double occupancy.

Fees cover, for the duration of the spiritual adventure:

• accommodations (based on double occupancy), hotels range from 5-star properties to a night in the desert (The night in the Thar desert is optional. For those that choose not to stay in the desert, accommodation will be provided in a hotel.)
• breakfast, lunch and dinner meals (all vegetarian) that are ordered by the trip coordinator
• Over 12-hours of classes conducted by Dandapani and study materials

Agra and Jaipur

For those of you who can stay on after the “Gems in the Desert” spiritual adventure, do join us for our 5 day exploration of Agra and Jaipur.

Our journey begins in New Delhi from where we take a train to Agra, home of the famed Taj Mahal. From Agra we head west, leaving the state of Uttar Pradesh and entering Rajasthan and we’ll make Jaipur our home for 2-nights before heading back to New Delhi to conclude our post tour.

Agra

Here we’ll stay for two-nights. We’ll visit the Taj Mahal during sunrise and watch the sun caress this architectural masterpiece described by the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore as “a teardrop on the face of eternity”. While here in Agra we’ll also visit the Agra Fort, Jama Masjid and Fatehpur Sikri if time permits.

On to Jaipur… the Pink City

From Agra we head off west to Jaipur in Rajasthan. Jaipur is the gateway to the rest of Rajasthan with its old city painted pink and besieged with bustling bazaars, chaotic streets and peppered with magnificent forts and palaces.

There’s plenty to see in Jaipur and our two-days here will allow you the opportunity to explore as a group or individually during free time.

Post Tour Details

For those that can stay longer our post tour takes us to the breathtaking Taj Mahal in Agra and to the pink city of Jaipur.

The post tour is currently planned for 5-days and 4-nights. It begins in New Delhi then visiting Agra and Jaipur before returning to New Delhi again. Cost and other details will be provided soon. The dates for the post tour are 8 to 12 November 2011.

* 06.00am, assemble venue for coach transfer to Singapore. En-route, stop at R & R station for refreshment.

* Upon arrival at Singapore, take half day city tour which is includes: Suntec City, Fountain of Wealth, Raffles Landing Site, Merlion

Park, Chinatown. Drive pass Civilian War Memorial, Cenotaph, Esplanade, Central Business District, Supreme Court, Padang,

St. Andrew Cathedral.

* After city tour, transfer to hotel for check-in. At night, proceed to Clake Quay for Night River Cruise. After that, proceed to Bugis

Junction – features Singapore’s first glass-covered, air-conditioned shopping street, while serving the needs of the modern shopper.

Free at own leisure.

Day 2 : Resorts World Sentosa

*  Breakfast at own expenses. 9.30am, gather at hotel lobby for transfer to Resorts World Sentosa － A world class family resort

opening at 2010, is designed as a collection of resort within a resort.

*  Try your luck at Casino. You also can visit to Festive Walk. You may join the optional tour to Universal Studios Singapore -  the

region’s first and boast 24 attractions with 18 attractions newly designed for Singapore.

*  At 9pm, enjoy the spectacular show “Crane Dance” – a multi-media spectacle with breathtaking lights, sound and pyrotechnics

performed on the waterfront. It is the world’s largest animatronics show with the biggest moving crane. After the show, transfer back

to hotel.

Day 3 : Singapore – Malaysia

*  Breakfast at own expenses and check-out hotel. Explore the world’s best rainforest zoo – Singapore Zoo. 12.30pm, transfer back to

Malaysia. En-route, stop at R & R station for refreshment. Return home with lots of sweet memories in SINGAPORE !!!

*  After the tour, continue proceed to Singapore Science Centre – Singapore one of the three top attractions, it brings together all kinds of

interesting exhibitions and galleries.

*  Within the exhibition covers all content associated with the science, including the human body, space, climate change, solar, and more

show up to more than 850 species.

*  Thereafter, proceed back to hotel for rest. At night, free at own leisure.
